These are some of the places I play or go to hear live music in Houston.

www.jphopshouse.com - Great place on the west side of town.  Friendly people, awesome sound system, HUGE selection of beers and one of the best open mics in the city.  Sunday nights starting at 6:00pm

www.VintageBar.com - very small, cozy place just inside the 610 Loop on Westheimer.  Great wine bar.  Open mic on Wednesday nights at 8:00pm

www.McGonigels.com - McGonigel's Mucky Duck was listed by Billboard magazine as one of the "top twenty" acoustic venues in America.  The Duck has live music six nights out of the week and has one of the best open mics in Houston pulling in some great talent on Mondays at 8:00pm

www.CosmosHouston.com - The audience at the Tuesday night open mic is made up mostly of fellow musicians and are a pretty encouraging crowd.  Another very popular open mic among musicians.

http://www.selia.com/houseconcerts.html - Selia has this UNBELIEVABLE backyard which is certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a wildlife habitat (it's filled with birds), where she hosts a monthly house concert.

www.ChocolateBuddha.org - My good friends Sandy and Janet Buller have a very rustic, warm and welcoming house concert series at their place way out in Pattison, Tx.  If you get a chance you've got  to see a show here.  Bring a chair, a cooler and you're instrument to play after the show.

Support local Texas musicians by supporting the venues that host them.
